You believe in promoting social justice, equality, and compassion through the teachings of Jesus Christ to create a more equitable and caring society.
Social Christianity is a political ideology that emerged in the 19th century as a response to the social problems associated with industrialization. It is rooted in the belief that Christianity has a social and political role to play in modern society. The ideology emphasizes the social teachings of Jesus Christ, particularly his concern for the poor and the marginalized, and seeks to apply these teachings to contemporary social, economic, and political issues.
The origins of Social Christianity can be traced back to the Industrial Revolution, a period of rapid industrial growth that…

What kind of impact do you think small, purposeful actions of kindness could make in your local area?
@9JRKB393mos3MO
Alot. We need more Christians in our Community/State/Country
@9JT3HN2Women’s Equality3mos3MO
It provides a quantitative, objective, and persuasive platform on which to base an argument, prove a claim, or support an idea. Before a set of statistics can be used, however, it must be made understandable by people who are not familiar with statistics
@9JRL3WP3mos3MO
I believe that small purposeful actions can make a difference in so many ways. It can create a more caring and empathetic environment for everyone. People need to be aware that there are many people out there that care about them and are willing to help.
It would make a great impact. Everyone should deserve kindness and it would help everyone in a nice way.
@9JRK6FT3mos3MO
I think that it is alright to show your faith in public but it should be accepted for all religions.

@9JS4TXJ3mos3MO

What does 'being a good Samaritan' look like in a modern context, and have you ever had such an encounter?
@9JRKHJC3mos3MO
I think in the modern world a good samaritan would look like cleaning up after yourself, donating if you can, and helping people who are in a tough position.
@9JRVT9F3mos3MO
Because there is no reason for us to trash our world and there is no reason for us to not help someone that is struggling because you could be in the same position one day
@9JRK8DBRepublican3mos3MO
Donating food and supplies to homeless, or even helping a buddy whos having a bad day can be examples of being a Good Samaritan.
@9JRKZ8S3mos3MO
if you ask me "being a good Samaritan" is someone who treats others in spite of their race and gender identity with kindness someone who doesn't look down on others simply because it is the right thing to do not, because they know that they will get something out of it. Kindness is paramount in this modern world, and we must understand that we will go nowhere unless we treat others with kindness.
I've had some encounters, I think being a good samaritan in modern context would be cleaning up after yourself, throwing away trash from the floor, paying for the person behind you, and of course, being kind to everyone you meet, regardless if they dont show kindness back.

Why do you think some people are more motivated by religious teachings to engage in social activism than others?
@9JHXXJQ4mos4MO
because some people have an image they think that they need to uphold
@9JJB3S6Peace and Freedom4mos4MO
People might engage in activism because of the injustices done to them or those that they have witnessed done to others, they may also engage in activism because they identify with particular struggles and social movements that align with how they relate themselves and their family to social and economic structures.
@9JHXY4P4mos4MO
because they believe in god and believe that they should follow the bible
@9JHYFWC4mos4MO
I think that the Christian religion likes to put their beliefs on everything they do and they believe that they are used by god as a vessel so they think god is speaking through them
@9JJ6ZCNIndependent 4mos4MO
The religious dedicate themselves to serving a diety. If they believe the actions they take on social issues are matters of rightciousness and piety then they will automatically be more motivated then those who arent. The religious see this as a sacred duty, the irreligious fundamentally cannot.
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
In your experience, how can engaging with people from different backgrounds enrich your own beliefs and values?
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
When have you felt most connected to a larger community and what inspired that feeling?
@9JSHSXY3mos3MO
I have felt most connected to a larger community when surrounded by queer and trans folk due to the shard understanding we have.
@9JRSD583mos3MO
I felt connected to my coworkers because we trauma bonded together
@9JRJS25Women’s Equality3mos3MO
Finding people who value the same things is important.

How can the concept of 'loving your neighbor' shape the way we approach debates on social issues such as homelessness or healthcare?
@9HG2TVL6mos6MO
Help assist them, not give them whatever they want
@9HG2SSB6mos6MO
Extend an arm out to help rather than to destroy each other.
@9HG2TR76mos6MO
The concept of 'loving your neighbor' can shape the way we approach debates on social issues such as homelessness or healthcare by making Christians more likely to give back.
@9HG2X7FRepublican6mos6MO
It can give you a better point of view in considering others who may not be as wealthy or as stable as most.
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
How should the idea of 'respecting the dignity of every person' influence our laws and policies?
@9JRCPTJ3mos3MO
There should be little religion involved in the gov as it can make a government corrupt and non functioning a prime example is the Islamic Republic of Iran. But I do agree to there being core values that stem from religion involved in the government.
@9JRBZYG3mos3MO
Stop embarrassing and humiliating people when arresting them, no matter what they did.
@9JRBRDC3mos3MO
Stop embarrassing and humiliating people when arresting them, no matter what they did.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
How would you apply the principle 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you' to today's Internet culture?
@9HTTKR3Independence5mos5MO
Treat others with the same level respect as you would like them to treat you
@9HTT482Independent5mos5MO
I'd show that there are consequences to actions that have been done, like say; you help someone with a project they are working on, online and they pass it with flying colors, and then they help you with something equally important, that's a consequence, or if you severely bully someone and then when you're at your lowest they start laughing at you is an example of a consequence.
@9HTSZY75mos5MO
Uhm it would not be applied because over the internet people could care less of others opinion
@9HTSYTW5mos5MO
our country was founded on theBible and it should stay that way
@ISIDEWITH6mos6MO
Is it possible to practice the inclusive love that Jesus preached in a society divided by political ideologies and religious beliefs?
@9H7KKT4Republican6mos6MO
it is difficult but it is possible and it is not meant to be easy but in my opinion the lord can pick you up out of the worst
@9H7K46JIndependent6mos6MO
Yes, people should be able to be inclusive of everyone for almost any reason
@9H7KLWC6mos6MO
I do not think that it should exist because there are many other religions that should be represented and if only one religion does it all the others should be able to do it to without backlash.
@9H7KC6D6mos6MO
No, it's really not possible in the modern day. Most Americans are caught up in anti-racism, political debates, protests, feminism, etc.
