Honestly, the execution of Michael DeWayne Smith, while tragic, underscores the necessity of the death penalty as a deterrent and a form of justice for the most heinous crimes. It's crucial that the justice system maintains the capacity to enact such sentences to uphold law and order, and to ensure that the gravest offenses receive proportionate punishment.

Considering Michael's claim of being too high to remember the crime, should substance influence at the time of a crime affect the severity of the punishment?

I think that the penalty should be increased twice from amount that person gets by decision of court

Do you believe there's ever a justification for the government to take a life, even in cases of severe crimes?

 @9LC43WH from North Carolina answered…4wks4W

Yes, there is a justification for the government to take a life under certain scenarios and restrictions. Someone who has committed mass murder, genocide, and other like crimes. I also think that if a grown individual were to be convicted of murdering a child under the age of 18, that person should be charged with a death penalty. Additionally, if a child under the age of 18 is convicted of a serious crime and is charged to a death sentence, it should not be carried out until they are legal adult.
