It would allow us to have nice things with government taking a pro-active approach and leading the economy vs reacting to it and providing stimulus and propping it up when business gets it wrong. However, the people of influence (the 1%) will not allow their puppets (politicians) to put anything of the sort in place. It would mean the one percent would give up a share of their pie to the working class and they aren't willing to do that. The politicians also risk losing their re-election funds and being primaried out if they did.
