What's the strongest argument for or against welfare that you've heard, and how did it affect your views?

I think everyone should have the chance to do better. Although we shouldn't make an extra effort to help those who are less fortunate because they voluntarily choose to not work. I think it is fair to say that we work for what we earn.

Everyone should be given the opportunity to improve, but we should not go out of our way to improve those less fortunate who chose to become less fortunate.
