For years the media coverage of this conflict in the US has been so one sided and has dehumanized the Palestinians utterly. Simultaneously the US policy has made Israeli political rhetoric more and more reprehensible and the country as a whole answers to no one even as it commits crimes that would lead to sanctions anywhere else

How will the US now change course? The publicized in an alternate reality, as evidenced by the comments on any piece even slightly critical of the Israeli conduct.

At every step Palestinians dehumanize themselves , just pay attention to the brutality they perpetrated and it’s not only Hamas but also the supportive and active participation of “innocent “ on a very grand scale . Whitewashing this fact will not do justice to the facts .

This doesn't negate the fact that American media (& Western media at large) essentially dehumanizes the Palestinians. The reporting that drives people to hold notions about Palestinians being inherently violent terrorists constantly makes the headlines, while the reasons why they often feel the need to resort to violence do not. Having over 2m people crammed into a blockaded 25-mile strip of land because their ancestors simply lived in what is now Israel during 1948 is not only unethical, but criminal. The blockade should be ended and the border torn down.

The domestic American Israel Lobby has extraordinary influential economic political powers and privileges

Netanyahu has been thumbing his nose at the U.S.-backed two-state solution for decades. There's a reason why Trump is the only U.S. president who he's supported unconditionally. The guy tried to flat-out undermine Barack Obama every chance he got and he wasn't much better to George W. Bush.

Yesterday Nancy Pelosi went on an unhinged rant when asked about 28.000 Palestinian lives killed & still complains about protesters at her house:

"I don't hear any of them saying Hamas is a terrorist organization, I am hearing them praising Hamas and I hear them ignoring the hostages"

 @JumpyMongooseTranshumanistfrom Guam commented…3mos3MO

She's making multimillion dollar stock trades with insider knowledge and chillin' out and excusing mass murder in the tens of thousands. What a system!

 @ExuberantRabbitGreen from Delaware commented…3mos3MO

Why would we protest Hamas in America?

Are we really taking these people seriously, still?

Netanyahu is counting down the days till Trump is back in office.

With Biden, he gets everything he could possibly want in terms of support for his War policy -- but with a fraction of the drama that would inevitably come along with Trump.

There's little doubt that Trump would be just as supportive of Israel. But his involvement would inflame opposition in way that Biden's just doesn't. Dem pundits don't get that Biden is invaluable to Israel for tamping down political blowback, internationally and domestically

 @SolemnVoleDemocrat from Florida commented…3mos3MO

I am a catholic and as far as religion has taught me we should have compassion and show kindness to our fellow men, hence I do mot understand Biden's continued total support for Israel for he seems to have lost his humanity, compassion, morality and empathy for the Palestinians? What about all those innocent children and babies that died and are still diying on a daily basis. Many Israelies and specially Netanyahu seem to have lost all their compassion, empathy and morals as far as the Palestinians are concerned and more importantly it seems Netanyahu would like to see all Palestenians disappear.

And what's up with the GOP all they want is money for Israel's defense but none for Ukraine and it seems to me Ukraine has a greater need for support in defending itself than Israel or am I mistaken??

 @CuriousChameleonConstitution from Oregon commented…3mos3MO

Barack Obama is the one who created this whole problem by building up and enriching Iran who in turn the source of most instability in the world . And Netanyahu was absolutely correct to try to stop Obamas nuclear ambitions with Iran .

 @RightMadelynRepublican from Illinois commented…3mos3MO

Nothing dehumanizes the Palestinians more, and debases their cause, than their support of a genocidal terrorist regime that uses violence for political gain. I suspect when Palestinians accept Jews and Israel’s right to exist in peace, they will find that they get the respect they deserve

 @EagleLaylaPatriotfrom California commented…3mos3MO

There is not a single Arab country were Palestinians are welcome and for good reasons . Gaza belongs to Egypt and Israel tried to give it back with Sinai but Egypt knows well why they categorically refused it . So you can put any spin on it but the facts tell the truth .

Biden has been "warning" Israel for the past several months--all the while shipping them arms and voting down ceasefire resolutions. Unless real action is taken--that is, forcibly compelling Israel to comply with international law--gestures of disapproval are empty if not outright insulting. "Watch what we do, not what we say."

 @SelfishHoopoeRepublicanfrom Missouri commented…3mos3MO

The US offered its own ceasefire resolution, requiring Hamas to turn over the hostages. Hamas said no.

There was a ceasefire on October 6th.

Hamas started the war on October 7th.

There was a ceasefire in November.

Hamas restarted the war on December 1st.

I'm sensing a theme....

We should stop funding Israel and demolish anly lobby groups from them that control America.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…3mos3MO

If it were up to you to decide, how would you address the needs of the Palestine refugees mentioned?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…3mos3MO

What do you think is the value of one human life in the context of conflict like the one in Gaza?

 @96WCG9P  from Michigan answered…3mos3MO

I think that anywhere, under any circumstances that human life in invaluable and should be revered with the utmost respect. Once humanity stops trying to put a "value" on human life it can begin to truly work towards world peace.
