Maybe there could be a representative for them, but in the U.S. we have the freedom to practice any religion so one church shouldn´t dominate everyone´s lives.

That since our nation is so big and many aren't religious, having religious ideology in politics would unfairly favor religion

I agree that one church should not dominate everyone's lives, because that's simply unfair to the people who don't follow the rules of that religion or don't follow a religion at all. To have a representative for religion is not a good idea though, because as stated before there are a lot of religions in the US, so having representatives for it would cause more conflict than good. US Citizens that are religious can make there own decisions and mind their business, not control other people.
