Cultural differences are important but they should not be prioritized at the expense of a unified national identity. There will always be regional and ethnic differences within a nation, even predominantly homogenous nations, but maintaining a cohesive, coherent centralized national identity to unite these disparate local subcultures is integral to a nation's success and survival.

there's a balance to be struck ...English needs to be the language andpatriotismis vital, otherwise people should live elsewhere. However,culture (cultures that are not hostile to Americanvalues and people that is-soislam does not count for example) is important too. Peopleshould have freedom of religion . But crimes like child marriages or marital rape shouldn't be exempt from religion either though.
