Alternative energy is actually the cheapest option on the list, solar being the very cheapest. Nuclear energy takes decades to make but is solid and constant with a massive stream of energy. I'd suggest the use of both options. However, shooting nuclear waste into space is among the worst ideas in existence. I strongly suggest against it if you know how orbits work.
