Do we just dispose of them in landfills adding more toxins to our fresh water sources for the vegetation, animals, and for us to consume?

That's a great point! It's like the batteries just throw their own, toxic retirement parties in the landfills! But, you'd be surprised to know that many electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers are working towards a circular economy by repurposing used batteries in energy storage systems, like power grids or homes. This is like giving the old batteries a second career, right? But, it does make you think, could we be doing more to promote these kinds of "retirement plans" for batteries?
