How do you think growing up in a kingdom would affect your perception of authority and power?

 @9K9HMPZWomen’s Equality from Arizona answered…3mos3MO

Maybe would be horrible because they always take control of their own people.

 @9K9LRMP from Washington agreed…3mos3MO

because you grew up knowing somone is above you with higher power so that hold over your head and keeps you in line because you are scared of the higher power.

Going and hanging out with neighbors and not always having attention from the press maybe.

 @9K9H6JG  from Florida answered…3mos3MO

Private life, chill life, relaxing, sleeping school, normal, and the ability to vote on who becomes president.

 @9K9G9G7 from Indiana answered…3mos3MO

I would miss not having a lot of pressure on me, I would also miss my family and not wondering if someone liked me for me or if they just wanted to be in the royal family.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

Would having a royal family influence your sense of national pride and why?

 @9JFFJ75 from Utah answered…4mos4MO

No, having a royal family with not give me a national pride as it feels like I will be worshipping that person for the rest of my life and the only person I would be willing to worship would be God and his mother.

 @9JH2BTJ from Pennsylvania agreed…4mos4MO

I feel as though having a royal family gives your country something as a tradition. These generations of families have been ruling a country for centuries. They have been there for the good and the bad. Lifting up the country from the ruins and bringing it towards glory.

 @9JFFK9HDemocrat from North Carolina answered…4mos4MO

No. It would raise my animosity towards the state because it institutionalizes supremacy.

 @9JHX5SV from Maryland disagreed…4mos4MO

The disappointing legacy of the British Royal Family have turned Americans off of the idea of having a royal family. Whether it be King George's refusal to surrender the 13 colonies or King Henry VIII's murderous tendencies, Americans see the royal family as an interesting part of British history. As Americans, we are among the most patriotic nations in the world because none of us are royalty and any of us could one day help to run our nation.

I would be ashamed to live in a nation that believes that certain people are given the right to rule over others.

Could the assurance of knowing who your future leader will be, as with a monarchy, be comforting in an uncertain world?

 @9KND6TG from Washington answered…2mos2MO

No, I think that even if we know who is running we won't be able to know what they are going to do so that won't make a difference.

 @9KNCXYG from Connecticut answered…2mos2MO

No because it would put the entire fate in one individual who could not be supported by the entire population.

 @9KNCF3P from Ohio answered…2mos2MO

I am against Monarchism to an extant because i feel it is secluded decision making. The idea of one person making most of the decisions is not a way to run a country, i believe in democracy.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…5mos5MO

How would you react if you suddenly learned you were next in line for a throne?

 @9HJZ3QXRepublican from Illinois answered…5mos5MO

I would try my best for a while and pick up on if I'm doing bad, so when i realized i do, do bad i can elect someone else.

 @9HJYQ85 from California answered…5mos5MO

I do not believe I am a suitable person for the job, nor do I think a monarchy is a good idea. If I were next in line, I would probably attempt to abdicate.

 @9HSYVC3Democrat from Rhode Island answered…5mos5MO

 @9HSZ24J from Minnesota answered…5mos5MO

 @ISIDEWITHasked…5mos5MO

If you could design a government system, would you include a monarch; why or why not?

 @9HJK2VG from Georgia answered…5mos5MO

  @Doc-Doc. from Minnesota answered…5mos5MO

No, why would I do that? Communities should have leaders, but these should be average people who are held by the same laws and regulations that other average people are. Leadership is not a role above others, but rather a different way of serving those around you in a different way.

How would you address the challenge of maintaining individuality within the structured roles of a monarchical family?

 @9L5WKX7 from Oklahoma answered…2mos2MO

In classical monarchism, the main issue in sequential family heirs is the assurance of the quality of their ruling. A check system much like USA's check system that is just as powerful as the monarch and their family should be in place. Each person, whether royal or not, make mistakes and have their own unique dreams wants and ambitions, losing those ambitions and wants is something often required of an heir, and when you lose your individuality, you lose drive, and subsequently the ability to confidently lead. Heirs should not be required to hold their office, but may be required to find a suitable replacement alongside a checking force.
